Christmas Decor for the Kitchen

| | |

Even the kitchen needs some holiday cheer. I’m continuing to add Christmas decor for the kitchen while trying not to clutter up the space.

With the kitchen being the most used room in the house I want my decor for the kitchen to be minimal so we don’t have to move items to actually use the space. I’m focusing more on textures, fresh cuttings from the yard, and practical items that are also pretty.

Keep Kitchen Decor Minimal

The last you want to do is move around decorations to actually use the kitchen. Keep your decor minimal because when it comes time to roll out those Christmas cookies or make your pies you don’t want to have to find space for all the decor you laid out. Keep it simple.

Focus on Texture

Trimmings from your yard or greenery bundles from the store are perfect for the kitchen. You can also add faux greenery or mix faux and real to give you a nice full look. The small bundle of greenery by the sink is a mixture of real and fake and you can’t tell the difference.

These are trimmings from my yard and the blue berries I found while hiking in Tennessee over Thanksgiving. I took several branches and they dried very well. I just have a thing for organic, fresh trimmings.

Add Fruit to Christmas Decor

Fruit is a great way to add seasonal decor and it’s also edible so it’s a decor that has more than one purpose. You might have to re-stock your “decor” but pomegranates, oranges, pears are all great for snacking and for decorating.

Simple Decor touches

Wreaths on the windows, a cookie jar, vintage art, little white ceramic house, wooden trays; all these items are simple but bring the Christmas season to your kitchen. Think about having some useable decor for this room.
